En la siguiente lectura hay dos ejercicios que te permitirán poner en practica y mejoar tus habilidades.

Madonna

Who hasn't heard of Madonna? For more than 15 years she has dominated the music industry and earned a fortune. She sings, dances, acts, performs, and she also has a family. She was recently voted third in a survey to find the top female icons of the twentieth century (first and second places went to Mother Theresa and Princess Diana).

Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone was born in 1958 near Detroit and she was the third of eight children in a traditional Italian family. Her mother died when Madonna was six years old. As a child, Madonna always wanted to be a star. She participated in school shows and was a cheerleader for a local football team. She took piano and ballet lessons as well. Her dancing skills earned a scholarship to attend a university in Michigan, where she had dance classes for two years.

At the age of nineteen she moved to New York with dreams of becoming a star. At first she worked in low-paid jobs and in 1977 she joined a dance group. Then she joined a band and began writing songs and playing guitar.

Her lucky break came in 1982 when she got her first contract and recorded the song "Everybody". Madonna's life changed with the arrival of her first child, Lourdes Maria. The father of the child was a Cuban dancer. Madonna left him soon after the birth. Her second child, Rocco Ritchie was born in 2000. His father is Madonna's husband, British film director Guy Ritchie. In spite of being a married mother of two, she's still one of the most important pop stars around.
